Owned by Elva and Mike Kelly, this lovely, unique, and secluded Ozark cottage sits at the edge of the couple’s 500 privately owned acres of cedar, pine, and hardwood forest and pastures. The cottage is the ideal hideaway from which to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the Arkansas Ozark Mountain’s picturesque seasons. Guests can stay for a few unhurried nights or weeks in the cottage, which is warmly and tastefully decorated with antiques, collectibles, and original art work and photographs. 

This inviting cottage sits at the edge of our 500 acres of woods and meadows.  You will find it to be a nature-lover’s paradise.  A well-manicured meadow, pond and wild flowers contribute to its rustic simplicity. The cottage sits atop a small hill and beckons you to stop for a while to visit and  plan activities for your vacation or simply savor the solitude and quiet of an unhurried stay in the country.

Elva’s Cedar Cottage is centrally located midway between the beautiful Buffalo National River Park and Yellville, the county seat of Marion County, in north central Arkansas. It is within easy driving distance of great fishing on the White River, Crooked Creek, Bull Shoals Lake, and Lake Norfolk.  Hiking trails are abundant throughout the Buffalo River National Park ,  the Ozark National Forest, and throughout the  hills and woods of Marion and surrounding Stone, Searcy, Newton, Baxter, and  Boone Counties.  Buffalo Point Overlook Trail, Campground Trail, Indian Rock House Trail, Forest Trail, Morning Star Loop Trail, Rush Mountain Trail, Cow-Creek Trail, Spring Creek Trail, Buffalo River Trail, River View Trail, Collier Homestead/River View Trail, Spring Hollow Trail, and Buck Ridge/Rock Wall Trail are located close to the cottage and vary in difficulty from easy to strenuous.  Guests of Elva’s Cedar Cottage may also want to hike or bicycle the cottage’s privately owned  1.5  mile  moderate hiking trail, located just outside the back door of the cottage, and photograph throughout the property.  

Walking down the country road on which the cottages is located offers rural views of grazing livestock, hills and meadows of wild flower and lovely mountainous views around every curve in the road.  Upon awakening in the morning or relaxing in the evening, guests will be rewarded with a viewing of  visiting wild turkeys and deer feeding on the property.  Visitors will also enjoy renting a  canoe, a kayak or other floating device from any of the  three Buffalo National River Park government-sanctioned concessions located within a short distance of the cottage  on Scenic Highway 14.  Having a picnic in the Buffalo River National Park, or swimming at Buffalo Point or in the Buffalo National River at the Scenic Highway 14 bridge is a wonderful way to spend an afternoons with friends and family or simply by yourself.   

All seasons of the year can be enjoyed during your stay.  Elva’s Cedar Cottage is an ideal and tranquil place  from which to view birds, deer, squirrels, wild turkey and other animals which inhabit our area.  During the rainy season, creeks and waterfalls abound.  Whether you choose to hunt the early spring growing and elusive morel mushroom, identify our many wild flowers that bloom in the spring and throughout the summer months, float the Buffalo National River, hike the trails amidst the lovely fall colors, or walk the snowy country roads in the winter, there are always many enjoyable ways to enjoy life at Elva’s Cedar Cottage. Your comfort is our main priority and our cottage offers privacy, a lovely and well-maintained yard and surrounding woods, and very clean and creative accommodations.

  • Recline on the back deck's comfortable patio chairs in the evening to watch the setting sun, and feast upon the stunning display of stars that only this rural setting, far from city lights can provide.        
  • Close your eyes, relax and listen to the hypnotic sounds of nature.
  • Pick and identify the many seasonal blooming wild flowers such as Purple Coneflower, Queen Anne;'s Lace, Black-Eyed Susan, Verbena, Phlox, and Compass Plant.
  • Enjoy a cookout in the spacious and private yard.
  • Relax in comfortable lawn chairs in the shade of the old oak tree
  • KODAK MOMENTS abound in the Ozark Mountains, so be sure to bring your camera.
  • Canoe, fish, and swim in the local rivers and lakes.
